Dinner was served buffet-style and featured delicious options like chicken in a cream sauce, prime rib, Caesar salad, and lemon rice. I loved the lemon rice so much that I had to go back for seconds! For dessert, we enjoyed cheesecake, and I couldn't resist having another slice. It's safe to say that my diet tends to take a backseat during holidays. After dinner and the fireworks, we hit the dance floor, which was incredibly fun. We returned to the port around 11 PM, and the atmosphere was lively. Although the dress code was described as casual, it was great to see that most guests made an effort to dress up a bit. Commodore also offers cruises for other special events, including New Year's Eve, so we will definitely be looking into booking another cruise in the future!

However, the next day, while I was reviewing the menu options, I received another email from Brenda Wong stating that she had booked the yacht and my reserved date and time without my knowledge, and she asked if I would like to choose a different date instead. This level of unprofessionalism is shocking. Who is responsible for the costs of the canceled flights? It's appalling behavior and unacceptable business practices! As a follow-up, I contacted Jewell for clarification on how this situation unfolded. She informed me that there was already a contract in place for the yacht, date, and time I thought I had secured. It seems that a cruise event slot that I was assured was available had actually been booked in advance, highlighting a continued lack of professionalism throughout this process.

Dinner was served shortly after 7 PM and included a buffet with chicken, hand-cut prime rib, sautéed vegetables, salad, lemon rice, and cheesecake. I enjoyed it so much that I went back for seconds and cleaned my plate both times—everything was delicious! After dinner, we returned to the bars, which offered a selection of beer, wine, and spirits. The upstairs bar even had premium tequila and other top-shelf options. Around 9:30 PM, we positioned ourselves off the San Francisco waterfront to watch the fireworks. The open top deck provided a perfect viewing experience. While it had been somewhat clear earlier in the evening, the fog rolled in just in time for the fireworks show, but it was still enjoyable. Throughout the night, the DJ on the 3rd deck kept the music going, and the dancing really picked up after the fireworks. The crowd was diverse and friendly, which added to the fun atmosphere. An overly enthusiastic cleanup crew even took our drinks while we were dancing, but the bar staff kindly replaced them, even though the bar was technically closed. Major kudos to them! We will definitely do this again—perhaps during Fleet Week when the planes are flying by.

What a disappointing NYE cruise. I’ve been on this cruise 3 times before the pandemic. I chose to go again because I felt like it would be a safe event with Covid protocols in place. During an interview on the news, I heard that m vaccination cards were also required. However, when I arrived at the boat, I found out that vaccination cards were not required. The mask mandate was not enforced. People were allowed on the boat with no masks. The cruise director greeted everyone while wearing no mask. He also walked around and talked to people while still wearing no mask. Guests walked around wearing no masks, and the boat was crowded. No one on the staff enforced the mask mandate. The food was a buffet, which shouldn’t be allowed during a pandemic. I felt very uneasy with the food service and atmosphere.
