Burma Superstar - Alameda

Edit October '23: Living in the East Bay and this place is still one of my favorites! I had their homemade Yellow Bean tofu today and it 's amazing. It melts in your mouth. Traveling to the Bay area for the first time, a friend took me walking down the streets of Alameda, where we saw a line out the door of this tiny place. The smells were mouth watering and there was no greeter, just a clipboard with a place to write your name and the number in your party. Then you wait, but it didn 't take long, since it was just the two of us. I can see how larger paries would be difficult to seat, however. We had their Fiery Shrimp with Coconut Rice and another dish with shrimp and eggplant, and they were DIVINE. My only complaint is that the eggplant was a little too soft for my individual preference, but I 've never had it prepared in Indian cuisine before, so I have nothing to compare it to as far as other Indian dishes. It could be a traditional preparation for that particular recipe. Nonetheless, it was fabulous, and as for those complaining about the wait, for me, it was worth it. The next time I 'm there, it will be a must visit for me. Tucson, AZ Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for the herbivores in the area.

Their food is always amazing. I’ve kind of worked my way through the menu and love their garlic noodles and coconut rice. Mango chicken is yummy, as is Sesame chicken. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
