Tropical Delight Eatery - Ajax

We purchased food from this restaurant and to our amazement, the food was terrible, tasted stale and rice/peas plus seasonal vegetables overcooked. This is a complete waste of money but of course we were fooled by the high ratings. We will not be returning to this restaurant as the quality of the food is not up to par.

I love me some oxtail and rice and peas so I was super excited to find this gem. ?The service is IMPECCABLE! Lucy and Zack were A1!!! The most pleasant experience I have ever had! ?Had a plate of oxtail, rice and peas and some cabbage. Got a complimentary pea soup that was robust, flavourful beyond measure. ? It was enjoyable I would have loved to have seen more gravy on my oxtail and rice and peas though and a bit more spice.My friend got curry chicken roti and it was pretty tasty she conveyed. All in all, these are wonderful people who make great food and most definitely make their food with love. Pay them a visit!!!!

My first time in Toronto or Canada even. So I got to my hotel and searched for a restaurant and saw this interesting business title. So I was game. When I arrived the location was quiet but the proprietor was a very pleasant couple who greeted me with a smile that you could tell from behind the smiley face mask. The gentleman offered to show me everything they had to offer. I declined since the first thing on their menu was oxtails!!! Which seems to be their best seller. Of course they have all of the Jerk stuff and curry items. But my heart was set. OMGOSH it was the BOOM!!! Along with my rice and peas (red kidney beans) and cabbage!!! YUM YUM. Finally a meal worth its prices. I did happen to remember to get a pic of my entree but you are going to have to take my word on the TWO yes two desserts that I had. Between the pre dessert of the ginger cookie and my post dessert of the tropical cheesecake true salvation...

It’s absolutely disgusting and an edible the service was really nice. That people were really really nice but the food definitely doesn’t match up to the service. It was actually very horrible. I took two spoonfuls and threw it in the garbage.Kid-friendliness: You’re very kind very friendly. I give them that much, but the food was horrendous.

Real authentic jerk chicken! The chicken had a nice spice to it, rice was moist, and the cabbage salad was superb. Also got a complementary red pea soup and it was very tasty. The server was very nice and polite. Would 100% come back if I was in the area.
