After reading some of the reviews we were a bit hesitant about our dinner in le cabanon, but we do not need it was very good in the service was good, we had a nice bottle of rosé wine from a sweet little handwritten wine. list, and chose starter of goat cheese, tomato and coward for me and crab pasta for mine. absolutely delicious! also beautifully presented. our main thing of fritted fish with kartoffel and calf were similar good. husbands kalb was a generous portion and while I had eaten another piece of fish, as my humbler was, it was enough and the aromen on the place. we also shared a beautiful dessert of cream, celestial, pfirsich and cake, which perfectly finishes the meal. for 127 euro for two we found the meal very well, and the quality much higher than for many other restaurants in ajaccio
Very refined cooking. four course set seafood menu is 42 euro. I have updated a starter course on the königs krabben pasta for another 6 euro and it was delicious. in any case the best kitchen we tried in ajaccio. service is relaxed and not so fast, but. that has not negatiw the total experience. I would certainly go back and recommend others.
Admittedly we arrived at restaurant late (due to late ferry). Upon asking for a recommendation from our hotel, we went to Le Cabanon. We were told the owner fishes in the morning and that is what he serves. We ordered the charcuterie platter and had...to wait about 30 min for it to arrive, only to feel like they had run out and had given us the off cuts they would normally throw out. The mains were nice but the ambience was long gone.
Very disappointing. The food was mostly pre cooked/ prepared and it tasted as if it had been prepared some time ago. We had a table outside the kitchen not a good idea too much information. The fish was not fresh and was cooked without...any invention or indeed seasoning. The sald of calamari and mussels was inedible. The waiter totally off hand passing off basic co operative Corsican wine as single vineyard. Absolutely hopeless.
