Papilles by Laurane - Aix-en-Provence

The ordering system is slightly annoying - felt like I was in Argos! They have these petit pans and you can select 3 or 4 with different fillings and choose a side salad or chips. I was slightly disappointed to see crisps on my plate! Wasn't filling or anything special. There were a few locals on their lunch break. Was okay but walk further into town and behind cours mirabeau you have a plethora of snack bars and restaurants.

It's a great place to go for a relatively cheap bite to eat! The staff is extremely nice and the food was great! It's nice to find places as a student that don't break the bank!

Having tried several coffee places in Aix (Book in Bar, which is my favourite or AS Coffee) I thought I'd give a go at Papilles and it was worth it! Food is tasty, drinks are very good (especially the hot chocolate) and the interior is very cosy. Price wise, I'd say it's fairly good as you can get a muffin and a hot chocolate for 6 euros.I highly recommend!

Quiet place with fresh food and pleasant staff. Coffee was very good! A nice stop on the way to the busy center

If ever on your way to or from the train station in the centre, please do stop at Papilles. The concept is great: nice terrace and inside, cool people, but most of all: very good and creative drinks and food. Core of the menu: 50 types of little sandwiches out of which you can select one or as many as you like. 2 euros each. And the selection is awesome.Combine it with a good fruit shake and you will have a great stay!
