Star Light Chinese Restaurant - Airdrie

If you are looking for pretty good Chinese food with lots of options available, this is the place to come. The service is terrific and the staff watches the buffet to keep it loaded up.

I went here for lunch with a friend and they had a great spread for their buffet. We enjoyed the food and the service lady was nice. I was impressed with the amount of food for an $11 lunch.

This used to be THE PLACE FOR CHINESE in town but it is slowly going down hill. The cleanliness hasn't been kept up. The food isn't as tasty as it used to be. Also seems a LOT more saltier than before The hard ice cream freezer seems to over freeze the ice cream. Years ago this place used to be the place for good food and it seems to be slipping. It is still busy because there aren't many decent places in town. But they need to clean up their act before someone else comes into town and shows them up. On the positive the couple running the place seem to be hard working and always so friendly to their customers. We keep coming because of them and because there aren't a lot of good alternatives for Chinese food in Airdrie.

I always believe in giving second chances, tried the buffet for lunch and was extremely unsatisfied.Had takeout just before Christmas, same disappointment. deep fried items were extremely greasy and un-flavorful, meat dishes were sparse on meat, all dishes heavy on sauce. Chicken fried rice was dryer than usual.

The restaurant wasn not to my liking and we have never been back. The supply of food at the buffet was sporadic and what was there was in need of being replaced. Washrooms needed attention. There needed to be more staff. It may have been an off night... cost was inexpensive but I'd rather pay a bit more for cleanliness and a better place.
