Silver Star Restaurant - Airdrie

If you are in a hurry but do not want fast food, drop in for a buffet delight, anything you could want and ice cream and cookies for desert. Great for the whole family. No MSG either.

You always have to try other Chinese restaurants and just see and taste how the competition are doing. From my pervious reviews I have rated others better than the New Silver Star. Well if I could I would downgrade the first 2......however this is not possible with how Trip advisor is a set up. So, that being said I was at the Silver Stat on a Sunday night at about 5:20pm. The entire buffet was full of some great selections. As I am mostly a vegetarian I tried all the veggie dishes that were low in sugar. They were all extremely fresh, not greasy and all Very good. Had one chicken dish and it was good as well. If you have a craving for Chinese I would suggest the Star over all others in Airdrie.

This past Saturday was our family's second return to Silver Star for the dinner buffet.We brought along my daughter's friend. The three of us agreed that it was the best Chinese buffet we had been to in a very long time. The place looks like a hole in the wall. The dinner buffet is 12.95 per adult and is AMAZING. A great selection including both deep fried salt and pepper squid and deep fried battered shrimp, which you normally only find on the pricier buffets. Everything is hot, the restaurant is clean, and the staff are friendly. We have ordered in to a friend's home once before and was wonderfully surprised at the food so decided to try the buffet and will continue to return to the restaurant to enjoy the buffet.

We ordered to a hotel but they sent no forks, chop sticks or napkins. The ribs were nothing but fat. The shrimp had no seafood sauce and no taste. The chicken balls were tasteless. We got rice but couldn't eat it with no cutlery. Absolutely the grossest food imaginable.

We had the dinner for three.Wonton soup, sweet & sour spareribs, ginger beef and Cantonese style chow mein.Plus chicken fried rice. MORE than we could eat and we were hungry! GEAT DEAL! Will come again!
