Rainbow Drive-in - Aiea

I gave Rainbows one star. I made a special trip to get a slush float, but it wasn't even open at 10 AM as stated on their website. I decided to give them a chance and waited patiently until 10:40 AM, but they still weren't open. There were one male and two female employees inside, drinking Starbucks and leaning against the counter, chatting while customers came and went because the store was closed on October 16, 2020. I eventually had to go to Burger King just to get something to eat. After waiting 30 minutes for Rainbows to open their doors, I still left empty-handed.

The food was awful! I was also charged for something I didn’t receive. The staff were unprofessional and not very helpful.

I unfortunately experienced food poisoning after dining here. The Max Salad lacked flavor and was quite bland. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I went to try the Loco Moco and it was just okay. Given that it was rated #1 in Honolulu Magazine, I had higher expectations. It was definitely filling, and the gravy was excellent, but there just wasn't enough of it.

I had the worst loco moco I've ever tasted (and I've tried plenty). There was no flavor at all. The hamburger patties resembled those from McDonald's and were of the same low quality. I'd prefer dining at almost any other restaurant over this one. My whole family shared the same opinion about their meals. The staff were polite, which is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars.
