The Federal Restaurant Bar - Agawam

Ten years ago, we ordered so many appetizers that our waiter was surprised we didn't get the bucket of balls, so this time we made sure not to repeat that mistake. The appetizers were so delicious that we could have easily made a meal out of them. My sister and I both chose the filet mignon, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My mom opted for the bone-in chicken Milanese special, and she devoured it. We couldn't resist dessert; my mom and sister shared a special cannoli that they both loved, while I had the strawberry chocolate shortcake sundae. If you leave this place hungry, there’s definitely a serious issue! Our waitress, Ashley, was fantastic. She added so much fun to our meal and was not only a pleasure to be around but also a true professional, making our dinner memorable. Living on the Cape, Agawam is a bit of a trek for us, so we can’t visit as often as we would like, but this was a real treat. It was absolutely worth the trip!

This was my fourth visit to The Federal. Reservations are a must, which we made, and we were seated in the bar area, which has a very dark and casual atmosphere. We kicked off our evening with drinks that were quite good. We also ordered the crispy matchstick zucchini without almonds, which was not what I anticipated, but it was still enjoyable—though I wouldn't order it again. For our main course, we had the chicken Bolognese, generously topped with extra grated cheese. We decided to skip dessert since we were too full. If I had known, we could have easily shared the meal or opted for a half portion.

The Southern atmosphere restaurant won't disappoint and a wonderful place for a date or just for a causal drink and appetizers. The bar area is a more casual place to relax. Very high end restaurant that has wonderful food.

The Federal is a fantastic restaurant, the service is top notch and the food is even better. We go there every year for New Years and it is always fabulous. The Ambiance of the restaurant is peaceful and relaxing, yet welcoming and comfortable. We love coming here.
