Milano Cucina in Hutt St, Adelaide is in a prime spot – right under Channel 10 and part of the food-lover’s delight of Hutt St.Even on a Sunday morning the café is busy with inside seats hard to find – but there is always the footpath Mediterranean style seating under large umbrellas. With orders being placed inside, I decided that seating inside was the way to go. My normal flat white and from a well-stocked display cabinet of a variety of cakes and tarts, I went for the open apricot pie. My coffee partner, the apple pie looking almost home-made with a high central sugar-encrusted dome and pastry decorations. The food arrived quickly with coffee following a few minutes later. My apricot pie was sharp and sweet with the almost shortbread style pastry was good. The apple despite looking good was slightly disappointing as the filling was shallow in comparison with the height of the pastry with the apple needing some additional flavours eg cloves to add to a fulsome flavour. With both dishes, a small serving of cream would not have gone astray. My coffee was typically an average barista style coffee, surprisingly given the impression that Milano Cucina is Mediterranean with the associated flavours and quality. Service was pleasant and efficient.Parking in this area can be hard to find as it is nearly all metered with a major hospital, Calvary, just across the road. Be prepared for a wait for a park!Return? Maybe but not on my must return list!
Service was extremely good, our waitress knew exactly what we had ordered when bringing out our meals. The gnocchi was delicious nice soft and pillowy, the veal tender and the lamb just yum! We also had some cakes from the front cabinet the almond and cherry cake being the stand out of the four. Thanks for great night to the staff at Milano Cucina.
Came in to dinner with my partner for date night without the kids . Found the service pretty slow and inconsistent . Was offered bread on arrival with olive oil , wasn't offered balsamic like other patrons were. Our entree took 50 min to come out 'bruschetta ' not a complex dish . Mains come out and the flavours were nice but my veal was over cooked which made it unpleasant to cut with a butter knife . Was only asked if we wanted drinks at the beginning and we told staff we will start with table water and no one asked us later or nothing . Pity it wasn't a pleasant experience as my partner is Italian and we were looking for an Italian restaurant that reminds him of his culture/cuisine .
Service was extremely slow, staff had to check order couple of times as they were confused. Food was average- did not find it value for money
I spend many hours here meeting my Clients & friends. The staff are friendly & efficient. Excellent coffee and food. This is my 'other' office and I love the place
