Benjamin on Franklin - Adelaide

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Had the fish pie which was delicious, service was great and could not fault. Loved the heritage decor mixed with modern decor. Will be back!

On Thursdays there is some sort of "special" on chicken wings, and it is a really good deal. We were visiting Adelaide, and we were taken to this restaurant by our son and his wife. Another couple, (friends of our daughter-in-law) also joined us. We ordered several tubs of chicken wings, and washed it down with beer/wine/lemonade. The only other item of food we ordered was french fries. On the whole, a super meal. Of course, we busted our cholesterol budget AND our salt budget, but what the hell, you live only once! I would strongly recommend this place if you are anywhere near Adelaide CBD on a Thursday evening. Oh, by the way, they are very kid friendly. Our son's two small children were well looked after: there was a nice kids' menu.

We have eaten here before & the food has been OK.Today I had the Jimbalaya. It was awful, it had no flavour & was very hot with chillies.I eat a lot of spicy food but this was very unpleasant.I informed the waiting staff who said he would pass the comments onto the chef.I left most of my meal.When we went to pay I asked what the chef had said & was told he had said the same batch had been served to other diners & no one else complained.We were charged full price for the meal, which was over priced to start with, let alone that I didn't eat much of it. Definitely will not return to this restaurant who obviously don't care if their customers have a good dining experience.

It was warm inside when it was cold outside. We ordered bread but they forgot this and brought our mains instead. I had kangaroo and it was nice with carrot and asparagus mix. Hubby had chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Whilst nothing to write home about it was good pub food on a Wednesday evening. Will we go again? Sure. Have gad drinks there before with finger food and it was really nice.

Great beer selection and an amazing Gin Menu. Quiet enough from the busy spots and cosy atmosphere. Good place to get you're gin on!
