The meat is fresh. You buy the amount you want. The cooked food was delicious. I have visited twice to buy meat for carnitas and the quality is the best.
After being shaken by the landmine like road. THIS IS A MEAT MARKET. The lines were long. However, they moved at a great pace. The meats were fresh. The prices are good. The animals are cool to look at, and peacocks are beautiful.
First off cash only- but don't let that scare you away. This was recommended to me by a Brighton local and I can't explain how amazing it was.If you didn't know it was there you would honestly drive by.When we walked into the single room we found fresh meat on two of the walls and cooked on the other side. We threw together a plate of cooked food and a 1/2 pound of jerky and then turned to the fresh meats. It was a little intimidating because there are no prices until you check out and then the prices are clear on the sticker to each item.At the time of our visit T-bones were 8.50 a pound! Ridiculously good meat that rivaled any steakhouse (and I'm not the greatest cook). We didn't go overly crazy with food as this was our first time there but walked out with streaks, fajita strips, pastor and were amazed by the quality of all of them.On the cooked side the carnitas were ridiculous and honestly everything we tried was good. The small size made me a little intimidated walking in as everyone else had been there before but I was so glad I went.Only downside is the hours but considering what you get I can handle that.
Great idea to come check this place out. The chorizo is wonderful. I ended up grilling it and it was amazing.
