Heff's Burgers - Abilene

We enjoyed Heffs, but it was nothing from the ordinary. I had the Bucket Burger. It was good with fresh ingredients. Burger was cooked well. Mine was fine with the blows I chose, but my daughters were really dry, she said. I would choose this through most fast food options. I tried the Twister Fries, which I expected, which are often called curly pommes. I got homemade potato chips that were okay, but nothing spectacular. We came in and they were moderately busy, but we found a seat and had our food in a reasonable time. The interaction at the counter was good and the employee even checked my order twice to ensure that it was correct by scanning the receiver. Overall, I could return if I lived here to try other options and ask my burger to have a little less good. Since I live a few hours away, I'm probably going to look for other places to try before I return.

This place still has the best burger north of I20 but it has had a steady decline in service that I'm starting to think is really leading to a spiral. No customers bad service no customers and around and around. I blame COVID for this bc there use to be people there any time you went there before. Now you may be one of a couple of tables in the place. I truly hope they can get this under control because their bucket burger is worth dealing with restaurant representatives that couldn't care less if you are there or not.

Ordered today at 6/9/22 at 6:05pm I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with NO ONION and here I am picking onion off again. This is the third time this has happened and I?m no ?Karen? I?m not looking for anything free. I just want to eat here without every order being wrong in more than one way. (Take the twister fries off the menu if the machine is down for months at a time) also no the burger isn?t upside down it?s super flat for some reason like someone mashed it down. They are normally nice full burgers.

2/20/2022: I ordered the #3 with fries, and at the time of my visit they were out of chicken, steakfingers, twister fries, onion rings etc. The lobby is in horrible shape, everything was dirty with trash on the ground. The soda machine was not in operable condition, as the sodas carbonation was off in the sodas I selected. I also noticed there was only one cup size available and there was no lid readily available for that cup size. The ice cream display at the front counter displayed extremely melted product, and it didn't look edible or ready to be served. The food took around 40 minutes to come out, and the employee gave our food to another table, and the customer at that table had to ask us if that was our food. The burger itself had good flavor but the fries were cold and hard, no flavor or seasoning at all. Overall todays experience at Heff's Burgers was unacceptable and truly a waste of money. I would think twice about choosing Heff's burgers as a option to eat.

This place is has a charming aesthetic and lots of great food options. I would have given it more stars, but the dining room was not clean. It is in sore need of a good deep clean. The staff was very friendly and the food tasted great. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of.
