Heff's Burgers - Abilene

I had the best burger I've had in a long time! I asked for it to be well done, and it was perfectly cooked.

We made the long drive and finally arrived. I ordered the homestyle fries and onion rings, but we ended up with the scraps from the onion rings and something wrong with the tater tots. Overall, it was quite disappointing. What went wrong?

Absolutely appalling. The place was filthy, with overflowing garbage and sticky floors. To make matters worse, there were no working toilets and they didn't even have ice cream! When I brought up the restroom issue to a staff member, she seemed indifferent. I will definitely not return.

We enjoyed Heffs, but it was nothing from the ordinary. I had the Bucket Burger. It was good with fresh ingredients. Burger was cooked well. Mine was fine with the blows I chose, but my daughters were really dry, she said. I would choose this through most fast food options. I tried the Twister Fries, which I expected, which are often called curly pommes. I got homemade potato chips that were okay, but nothing spectacular. We came in and they were moderately busy, but we found a seat and had our food in a reasonable time. The interaction at the counter was good and the employee even checked my order twice to ensure that it was correct by scanning the receiver. Overall, I could return if I lived here to try other options and ask my burger to have a little less good. Since I live a few hours away, I'm probably going to look for other places to try before I return.

This place still has the best burger north of I20 but it has had a steady decline in service that I'm starting to think is really leading to a spiral. No customers bad service no customers and around and around. I blame COVID for this bc there use to be people there any time you went there before. Now you may be one of a couple of tables in the place. I truly hope they can get this under control because their bucket burger is worth dealing with restaurant representatives that couldn't care less if you are there or not.
