I believe this place is a little hidden gem in the Cairngorms. We stop by whenever we’re staying in Ballater, and we’ve never had a negative experience over the years. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff are always very friendly. It's definitely worth the drive out, and it's a place we keep returning to.

The food was delicious, even though it wasn't presented very well. However, it definitely tasted better than it appeared. I found the prices in the gift shop to be quite high, and I'm not sure what target market they are aiming for.

We found this restaurant on Google Maps, which indicated that it was dog-friendly, so we decided to stop here for lunch. However, when we arrived, we were greeted by a large sign at the entrance stating that only guide dogs are allowed. There is an outdoor seating area, but that wasn't the best option in November! We ended up having lunch outside, although the service was somewhat slow.

Absolutely love this wee gem of a place. It’s our “go to” every trip up to Aviemore and back again. Great food (hubby loves their bacon rolls), very well priced (compared to many other similar type places we have visited over the years), lovely friendly staff and the gift shop always has lots of lovely items to browse…a purchase is always made. Never disappointed at all.

2 aging motorcycling pals stopped here for tea and cake when touring in the area. We had a wonderful welcome from the staff who explained the various cakes to us which we found to be of super quality. Go you win’t be disappointed!
