Rendezvous Restaurant - Abbotsford

I have been here many times for lunch and now also for dinner. They have excellent schinitzel champignon, Kalamari and lasagna. Service is good. the prices are reasonable. Beer is at a good price, buy by the bottle or on tap in a glass .

We usually go out for dinner on Friday nights. Tonight we decided to return to the Rendezvous in Clayburn. We tend to go a bit earlier, to avoid the crowds and places are usually a bit quieter. We have been here several times over the last 15 years. However, after this time, I doubt that we will be back. I had the 'chicken souvlaki' and it was actually acceptable. "Awesome Lady" had 'chicken cordon bleu' and it was not even second-rate. While the service was good the food is not. This was the second time that we have had a 'fail' on something like the chicken. The sauce was definitely canned, or very poorly done, and I noticed is the same on every item served with sauce. Very bright colour and no taste. Used to cover up shortcuts in the food prep?

Our staff gathered to celebrate my retirement as we have for previous retirees for quite a few years. The staff at Rendezvous is so accomodating. They had plates and a knife for the cake we had brought in. A single server handled all our needs very quickly and efficiently!

We called in to order a pizza for pick up (for dinner), when my husband went to pick it up they didn't have it! He was told they "gave it to someone else". This was after he stood there waiting while countless staff walked past him, ignoring him. They gave us a free pizza for the trouble, but it was awful. Too salty, excessively greasy and didn't taste fresh at all. Won't be back.

Was closed for lunch but the owner answered the phone when I called. He said no worries and made our lunch for the office. We did take-out. He want far above and beyond. Excellent customer service. Great food!
