Dairy Queen Grill Chill - Abbeville

I was surprised to find that the chicken strips have shrunk in size, and the prices have gone up by about three dollars. I ended up paying nearly $11 (including taxes) for a six-piece meal, whereas it used to cost around $8. Despite the increase in price and the smaller portions, it was still pretty good.

On August 26, 2022, around noon, we visited the drive-thru. Unfortunately, the employee who took our order was quite rude.

My daughter ordered a crispy chicken salad for me, and I was quite disappointed. The lettuce was shredded, there was only one piece of chicken, and just a few tomatoes. The cheese and bacon were so hard that they were inedible. I took the salad back to request a refund. Since my daughter paid with her debit card, I knew it had to go back to that card, which I understood. However, they ended up refunding the entire meal and then charging the card again, this time excluding the salad. It was confusing to say the least. Both my daughter and I had to visit the restaurant, and neither of us received an apology during the process. The customer service was very poor. To add to the frustration, they were out of ranch dressing last week and now they didn’t have regular lettuce for the salad. Clearly, there are issues with management and how they handle ordering food and supplies.

On February 28, 2023, I visited again and was impressed by the friendly staff. The food was enjoyable, although it did take longer than typical fast-food drive-thrus. However, since they prepare the food fresh, a longer wait is to be expected compared to places like McDonald's or Burger King. The quality is worth the wait, and I don’t mind being patient for a few extra minutes. This has been my experience every time I go to Dairy Queen. Thanks to the DQ team for their great service! The drive-thru was efficient, and the food was very fresh. While the burgers are a bit bland, which is common for DQ, the chicken fried steak strips are quite good.

Great food and the best ice cream. Every time I stop here (usually for the ice cream) I End up ordering food as well. They always cook the food fresh when you order.
