Since we weren't a fan, we ordered fries. I can't tell you what they taste like because they were delivered to the salary men at the table next to us. I guess they thought it was the service charge food (despite this spot not having service charge). The men seemed to enjoy our fries. After being ignored repeatedly, we were able to get our check (with the fries still on it). They did remove the charge after we explained and pointed at our fries on another table. It was a bad dining experience for us, but hopefully this was a fluke. However, I won't be back. Luckily, our reservation at Andy's across the street was ready... there good food and excellent service awaited us.
Ran into this place by accident. We were looking for a late night spot near our hotel in the Shiodome area, but we didn 't want to venture out too far because we were tired from walking nearly 30,000 steps that day according to my girlfriend 's FitBit. To our surprise, it was difficult finding a spot that closes later than 11pm. On top of that, my girlfriend doesn 't like beer so we had to look for a place that served cocktails. It ended up being a very nicely decorated bar, and quite authentic looking from my minimal experience with British pubs in the US. The patrons were mostly men, as most pubs are, but I spotted a few women as well. Everyone looked like they were locals hanging out after work. It was a Monday night after all. We ordered the Apple and Ginger cocktail (around ~850 Yen), which was sweet and very fruity. She loved it. I ordered the Kaku HighBall (Whisky and soda, ~450 Yen), which is a simple modern-masculine drink. It 's a very popular drink, and generally on the affordable side. We were hungry, so we proceeded to order some food. I wanted rice, so I ordered the garlic rice and roast beef. It was served on a hot iron plate. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The beef was tender and the rice tasted of roasted garlic. Very good! I would skip on the curry chips/fries. They over seasoned it with salt. I had to rub off the salt off each stick with my fingers. All in all, we came here to dine and weren 't specifically looking for pub food. If you are looking for a British pub experience, I cannot speak for the beers or the British food. The fish and chips and sheppard 's pie were both available on the menu however. Do I even need to rate the service in Japan? From my travels, Japan 's service is either good, very good, or excellent. Most know just enough English, and we know just enough simple Japanese words to get by. We entered less than an hour from closing and they politely reminded us of the kitchen closing 30 mins prior. They were very attentive and polite until past closing time.
We stopped here after not being allowed in any other areas because they were all Maid Bars and I had he wife with me on vacation. This was the first place we happened on to that we didn't have this issue. The appetizer was just ok and the beers were passable as well. Most importantly we got off our feet for a little while. The place is very nicely decorated and looks nice and is clean. But all in all we didn't find the service or faire to be all that great. Would not avoid the place if you're in a pinch but also wouldn't seek it out either.
Food was OK. Service was terrible. I would warn against coming here unless you are Japanese. We were given the wrong check, which was far more than our actual bill. Of course the check is in Japanese. When we went to try to get the right bill, the attitude was terrible and our server was not apologetic at all.
