My wife ordered a steak - very juicy/tender and I ordered a beef liver and onion - it was cooked so good that my son who does not like liver before ate half of it.The only setback for the evening was the people at the other table were bit too loud. I definitely will go back trying other items on the dinner menu.Good job!! A few parking spots at the back of the restaurant.
My husband read about Uncle Joe's a year ago....our first visit in 2015 was good. However, our last meal there late Oct. was terrible. French onion soup was cold, Cajun chicken on the Greek salad was pre-cooked, not a whole piece of chicken but dried up pieces and tasteless. Will not return or recommend this place to anyone.
While staying in the area for a few days, we decided to visit uncle Joe for breakfast. We were all pleased with our food and service. I had a fry-up which was cooked just as I ordered. Bacon was thick and tasty and came as 3 large rashers. No skimping here. We will try to return for lunch..
What you see is what you get and its very good at Uncle Joe's. Stumbled on the place on a drive through Markham Village and glad we stopped. The menu is extensive and covers all the bases of a family variety restaurant. No goat cheese or sushi here. I had the fish and chips which was very good, not greasy and my friend's pancakes were fluffy and tasty. They have honest to goodness desserts, rice pudding and pies, and feature an all day breakfast. The decor is 80's wood panel and booths, a bit worn but gladly not the shiny and noisy style of new rennos. My one complaint is that for a fairly large restaurant, there isn't a washroom on the main floor. They had lots of regulars and reservations over the lunch hour so that's always a good sign of a good place to eat.
We had lunch here, and I tried the nachos. They were terrible. It consisted of a bunch of nachos with some tepid liquid cheese poured over them and a few hot peppers. It had some sour cream and sauce as small side dishes. I asked for a soda water and it came in a can. This is not western type food, as advertized. My companions meals did not look any better. I would avoid this place
