Extra Burger Oakwood - York

I first discovered Extra Burgers when it was attached to the Nice Nice wine bar on Dunn. Sadly, that location is no more...but they since opened a shop on Dundas (where a seemingly hand-painted sign simply says HAMBURGERS) and now there's this spot, located in midtown. I tried the midtown location today after seeing their Instagram post of a gorgeous-looking smash burger with glistening dark brown, perfectly seared crispy edges (posted Jan 6 2022). What I actually received looked nothing like the picture...no crisp edges and just a lackluster looking patty. It was also cold. And it dripped secret sauce everywhere (no napkins in the bag? Dude). Look, the burger was still tasty and it's probably still better than most standard burgers you'll find in the city. Still, it wasn't as pretty as advertised or nearly as superb as some of the city's best smash burgers (e.g. Burger Drop, Harry's). Here's hoping today was just an off day...and that this midtown location soon rises to the glory of its sister spots.

Best burger place in the area hands down. Just tried the fried chicken sandwich for the first time, definitely impressed! And of course the burgers are amazing. A bit pricey but really no different from other smash burger places in the city. Fries don't get soft in the bag. Onion rings perfectly seasoned.Only downside is limited hours, not open Monday to Wednesday. Otherwise I can't find a single reason not to LOVE this place.

One of the best burgers in Oakwood and St. Clair. Good job guys keep with the good food.Super clean and super friendly staff.

I've had a couple of experiences with this place at first was amazing but then they kept getting my orders wrong and then I got an email from account information stating that my request of having no pickles and tomatoes on my burger and receiving them on my burger was a joke I pursue to laugh and told me that they caught the culprit and he has been fired and that I can have a good night so if I had an allergies to either one of those things I was told to have a good night so my experience is 0 Stars if I could give it

Excellent smash burger with a sauce that has a little kick and a nice squishy bun. The crinkle fries were seasoned PERFECTLY! So happy to have Extra Burger in the neighbourhood.
