Delicacy - York

Stopped off here after a long bike ride, ravenous! The owners were clearly due to close but nevertheless they welcomed us in and served us wonderful coffee and cake. The menu is small but the goods are home made and tasty. It could use a...bit more seating though.

My wife and I have had a number of sit-in meals at Delicacy over the last few months. Brilliant Food, Great Service and very reasonable Pricing. Will be revisiting when we visit Bishopthorpe over the next couple of Months.

The people were welcoming and all seemed great. I asked for a prawn and avocado sandwich. Great, I thought, until it arrived. You needed a magnifying glass to find the avocado and not many prawns come to think of it.... loads of salad though! I...think what really annoyed me is when I was told it was under the salad which it clearly wasn’t. I know my eyesite is not that great but not that bad. The gentleman did bring me some more however it wasn’t without a chunter and that’s why I’m writing this. If he’d just said , sorry I can see that, I’ll bring you some. Fine, I would have been happy. Enough said. If you advertise it as prawn and avocado it’s always best to put the advocado in!!!

Delicacy were very friendly professional. They had set menus to choose from but were happy to change things to suit our needs. Everything was homemade. Gluten free was also homemade, lots of choice, savoury sweet. We had a stress free funeral wake with...lots of compliments for the catering.

I only stopped by for a take away salad having heard good reviews on a busy morning. Nice cosy place. Very friendly service.I am sorry I don’t know the name of the person who served me, who even sent someone to buy fresh Avocados as...they were low but I was quiet happy with what they had in stock so didn’t wait for them.Good selection of sandwiches salads. I would happily go back for another visit!
