A humble little restaurant across the street from the O'Rorke Hall. My friend and I just wanted a little something, not a big meal so we ordered a chicken satay appetiser to share. I personally thought the food was good but not mind-blowing and a little pricey $20 in total). I saw the guy behind me had a massive portion of noodles so it's probably worth it for the mains. The food came promptly and the service was friendly.
Once a month went here for some food. The chef and waiter is friendly. The food, yeah its pretty good. However, the price is a bit pricy compared to the asian-cuisine restaurants I've visited in Auckland CBD.<br/ <br/ Good place to go if your place is nearby and you dont mind spending some extra
Listed in Metro's top 100 cheap eats, we thought we'd give this place a try! Tucked away from the main road, it's very convenient for uni students nearby. Parking isn't the easiest, as you'll often find in the city but once your there the service is friendly and the restaurant has a nice casual vibe to it. <br/ <br/ We ordered the Mamak Kuay Teow Goreng and Tau kwa chien – both dishes were a reasonably portioned and a decent price. The Tau Kwa Chien was quite refreshing with the combination of cucumber and sweet chilli but the tofu was a bit dry. We thought the Mamak Kuay Teow Goreng was good, the flavour was there but was missing its authentic kick! <br/ <br/ Not sure if I would make a special trip to return but would be worth checking out for those in the area.
Great friendly hosts and the Nasi goreng kampung is the specialty. Shame they will be moving on around May. Hope they turn out somewhere again in the near future.<br/ <br/ <br/
