After a few strenuous and labor-giving weeks at work, my colleagues and I wanted to drink some beer again after the evening. Due to the magnificent May weather we decided to spend the Thursday evening in a beer garden. Our choice fell from the water tap, as it has a beautiful central location for us. Location/Ambience and Cleanliness The water tap is located along the cycle path to Zell, next to two other restaurants. A few meters further you will find the public restaurant of the Würzburger FV and a pizzeria called Pronto. This has its own toilets, so you don't have to enter the guest room at all. That's why my assessment refers exclusively to the beer garden. This is little spectacularly decorated. One half of the beer garden lies in the shade of large and dense chestnut trees, the other half in which we took place lies directly in the glorious sun. Parasols are present here, but were not tensed at the time of our visit. This was not necessary either, as we wanted to enjoy the sun. When five more people later joined our five-headed group, we moved under the chestnut trees as there are round tables for ten people. In the summer you can probably stay here comfortably. The beer garden has an estimated 150 seats. At the beginning of our visit about 18.00 a few tables were occupied. Around 20.00 we were the only guests. At least in the outside where it had become quite cool. I can't judge whether people were sitting inside. Overall, the beer garden makes a cozy and well maintained impression. However, the façade of the restaurant has been somewhat down. Unfortunately, the water tap is not far from a railway line. About four five times an hour passed a train, which was clearly perceptible every time. Especially the beer garden, but also the toilets made a very well-maintained impression. Four stars for the ambience and three and a half stars for cleanliness. Service A single service was responsible for the beer garden. This was neither very friendly nor fast or present. It took a time to get the card and we could order drinks. The drinks came fast for this. I drank a measure of beer (arrows from the Würzburger Hofbräu brewery). This cost 5.80 euros. The other beers cost 20 or 30 cents more. When she brought the drinks, she took the menu without comment. I had to ask that I would like to eat something to call the service. I received a demand for the food if it tasted. At the beginning, she was still looking relatively frequently in the beer garden at the right, but later, especially when we were the only guests, she could hardly look more. So she did not notice that other people joined us. After twenty minutes of waiting, they went to the restaurant themselves to order a beer. Even the payment process did not run without problems, since the operation caused some difficulties in compiling prices. All in all two and a half stars. Menu The menu includes mainly Franconian and petty-bourgeois dishes. Suitable for a beer garden. There are, among other things, soups, salads, toasts, carvings, steaks, beefs, sausages, fish etc. The food Actually I wanted to eat a carving of Viennese art with pommes, but then decided to relocate myself to a court of the daily ticket. I ordered a curry sausage with pommes at the price of 6.90 euros. It's strange that this court is on the day card. After about 25 minutes, the curry sausage was served with pommes. The sausage itself was perfectly fried and tasteful. The sauce was also delicious. I even think she was done. There was nothing to expose to the Pommes. Overall one of the better curry sausages with pommes that I have eaten so far. Only the portion size I felt too small. I didn't get satt right. One of the descendants ordered a portion of Pommes at the price of 3.00 euros. A large plate full of tasty pommes and two bags of ketchup and mayonnaise were taken. Perfectly enough for a beer garden. I was expecting worse food. Three and a half stars for the food are therefore completely justified. Price performance ratio and conclusion Half-liter beer at the price of around three euros is below average for Würzburger ratios. The portion of Currywurst with Pommes was tasty, but for the price of almost seven euros a little too small. For a cozy evening beer and a little food, I recommend the water tap. 4 – also because of the good situation for us: happy again (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again
