During a road trip, we stumbled upon the Rusty Ute and decided to stop in for a light lunch. The friendly couple who own the place also do most of the cooking themselves. We missed out on their famous homemade pies, as they were already sold out by 12.30pm, so we settled for some delicious homemade sausage rolls. For dessert, we indulged in slices of homemade cake - the orange poppy seed was tasty, but the standout was the homemade carrot, ginger, and walnut cake. It was incredibly moist, rich, and flavorful. The coffee was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the rock 'n' roll music added to the experience. If you find yourself passing by, make sure to stop in for a delicious and satisfying meal.
We decided to stop for lunch on our way to Hervey Bay. We ordered burgers, which were great, and a toasted sandwich for our young daughter, which was also delicious. The owners came out to chat with us, held our baby, and petted our dogs. They were lovely people and it was a wonderful place to have lunch.
Lovely relaxing rustic atmosphere, friendly manger, delicious food, good price.Excellent display of old cars
Stopped in Woolooga for a coffee enroute to Biggenden. The Rusty Ute Cafe is relatively new in town. Patty cake of the day was Sticky Date - well worth stopping for. Worth a visit just to see the revamped ceiling & to stand on the footpath and see the guttering the floodwater got to in 2013 flood. Hard to believe. Little art gallery attached to the cafe makes for an interesting stop.
