W.T is an excellent place to go for a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the rich taste of the duck fat poutine (alt and pepper on the table if you want more seasoning) and then enjoyed the lettuce wraps and brisket. The lettuce leaves for the wraps were fresh and crisp, and the fillings were generous and flavourful. An especially nice visual touch were the saffron threads on the aioli. The brisket was moist with a glistening jus, served on puréed potatoes with tender-crisp roasted carrots. For dessert, a shared slice of s’mores brownie, which had lovely toasted peaks of marshmallow cream drizzled with fine lines of chocolate ganache. For a beverage, still water is provided in a bottle for the table, and a Little Dove mocktail was a citrusy eye-opener. Service was attentive and courteous. We were glad to make the Wood Tavern our destination for this meal. 10/10! Thanks!

The service wasn’t great. There were some long gaps between Being greeted, getting water to the table and getting food. Most of the food was not hot. Like it was sitting there waiting and cooled off. My wife ordered the cauliflower appetizer and when she got it, it was cold. Server brought her another and it was so hot she burnt her lip. Didn’t offer us dessert as she asked us when we finished if we just wanted the bill. Food is overpriced for quantity. My daughter asked when we ordered if she could order one of the burgers and fries to go. She completely forgot and we didn’t want to wait for it to be made. It was a 2 hour meal that shouldn’t have taken two hours. It wasn’t even that busy. On the plus side, the drinks from the bar were very good. We won’t be going back.

We had such a lovely time. Our server, Jordan, was wonderful, friendly and efficient. The food was outstanding, fresh and very tasty. My gnocchi with butternut squash I added the grilled chicken), was just perfect. My date’s meal looked fabulous, too. The advice from the bartender was great and I enjoyed a lovely French rose with my meal. A superb and enjoyable dining experience.
