City Fish Kebab - Winchester

This used to be a friendly and trustworthy kebab house, but I wouldn't recommend it anymore. On my last few visits, the orders I received at home were not what I had actually requested. It feels like they assume that anyone ordering after midnight must be intoxicated and can get away with serving anything. It's really disappointing.

This is definitely the best around! I can't understand how people opt for the place close to the train station when Ali's kebabs at City Fish Bar are so much tastier! I always ask Ali or Zak to make my kebab crispy, and they gladly stop the meat spit from turning and turn up the heat, giving me a perfectly crispy kebab instead of a reheated one from the hot plate or bain marie. The service is excellent, and we really miss this occasional treat since we’ve moved away.

I overheard a couple at a nearby pub singing the praises of City Fish Bar, so we decided to give it a try that evening using their home delivery service. The fish was outstanding, perfectly cooked in a light, crispy batter, and paired with twice-fried chips. The kids had lamb kebabs, which they were still raving about the next morning. The teenage verdict? Generous portions that were tender and packed with flavor. Now you know where to go, so don’t blame me if you choose another place and end up disappointed!

I wouldn’t be writing this if they hadn’t taken my one on the website down! But after our food being an hour late and the chips brown soggy and horrible and kebabs stone cold and no apology I am! Very poor won’t be going anywhere near here again.

Had fish and chips delivered, fish was a bit on the dry side, like it might not have been cooked from fresh, but had a burger another time, this was absolutely lovely, tasty and not 'dry '
