I can only say that everything was offered was delicious with bursting aromen and great thought process for the accompaniment. I would recommend this restaurant for those who are a wide palate of aromen with a understanding of good eating and are willing to pay the price for it. for those who like bland american food....then this is not their place. it is for those who appreciate
This place is a hidden jem just outside of Winchester Square. The staff are attentive and pleasant as they serve you a wonderful meal. The menu is wonderfully varied to accommodate any hunger pangs you need filled. I live 20 minutes away and drive by many other restaurants to eat here. It can get a little loud as there is a bar with plenty of tv's, but it is a great place to have a drink and watch the game!!
The Black Horse Tavern was the first Tavern downtown. The First Pub arrived post this Tavern. I always found this menu here interesting. I found it difficult to find what I want like a piece of dish, baked potato and a veggie. Today, I tried the cup of chili with a side salad. Both dishes were very good. In fact, taste wise, I found it hard to compare to the other pub. Both are excellent.
The food and drinks were very good especially the mazzarella with an amazing sauce. The black horse tavern brew was also outstanding because it was flavorful and tasty without being too heavy. The fish-and-chips was good but I would have preferred more fish and fewer chips. Parking is available after hours at the transit station parking lot across the street. Otherwise parking can be expensive if you plan to stay for a while. The only negative was the attitude of the waitresses. I should have checked other Yelp reviews Which mentioned the same characteristic among the wait staff.
The pluses We could sit outside with our dogs and eat and the waitress was awesome. The not so good my mother ordered a $10 bowl of beef stew that came in a bowl with a huge rim and not much of a bowl. The stew was thin and had, literally, 2 pieces of meat in it and came with oyster crackers. They don 't serve bread anymore. She had to eat more when she got home because it was so little. I had the chicken, artichoke picata which was pretty good, but had a bit too much lemon and not enough linguine.
