There was no broccoli, peas or beans etc, just picked cabbage which is not something everybody likes. It was all over priced. The brownie pudding for £7 came with the smallest scoop of ice cream I've seen, although the eton mess was lovely. Atmosphere and service in pub lovely, just improve the roast. Too expensive for what it was. Sorry guys.
For my late mother we had a wake at a pub in colerne called the 6 Bells. They don 't do food at the moment but its owned/run by the same family who own the The Dog and Fox. They proved the food (And venue) and I was amazed by the quality of sandwiches, tiny donuts, and nibbles they provided. I 've had people tell me how they enjoyed the Proper cuts of ham and that the fillings were made to be eaten. There were good dietary options and this was never asked for or specified. Everything was perfect without me having to lift a finger a huge relief while dealing with sudden bereavement, funeral plans, ect. I have only good things to say about what they provided. It was also a great price compared to other options. I 'm so glad the day went well.
Seven of us dropped in at 7.30pm on a Thursday evening for food, with no booking it was busy and buzzing with locals and cyclists alike. We were warmly welcomed, shown to a table straight away and enjoyed good beer and decent pub food with no hassle and great service from the young waitress (who was just brilliant).
Popped in for a Friday lunch pint and stayed for a great burger. Lovely friendly welcome on a cold day plus a good fire burning. The lady had a Malbec and I couldn't resist a pint of Landlord by Timothy Taylor which was Proper good....
What more can we say... Yummy Sunday roastie and even tho full you can't not have the sticky toffee not too sickly pudding. Perfectly light and heavenly.
