We are glad that we have found this hidden gem and it deserves all great reviews! Definitely recommend reading all this review and will come back to try other dishes on the menu.
Everything and I mean, everything here is absolutely sublime! From the beginning, if you draw the artworks on the shield until time to pay the check, you will not be left off! When you go through the door, the ambience just pulls you in. Find a place and spend some time. Our waitress Morgan was fantastic. All she recommended sounded not only great, but the tase, exquisite! I mean, I rarely get excited about a restaurant and rarely give a 5 stars, perfect rating. The boss and the frog is certainly the exception. The soup of the day was cream from squash and goat cheese soup. Mwahh. Wonderful. Creamy. Flavorful. The French onion was just as convincing! It may sound likerd, but the chicken quesadila was full and tasteful! Should I say the best I had?! The court of the day was the Cambodian beef. When I say taste bomb, I mean FLAVOR BOMB! That was so good that I ordered another one for dinner home. The owner came out and spoke to us for a minute and that increased our experience even more! He was so kind. His wife is the cook and let me tell you he loves this woman! We also met her for a short time and you can say that her heart is in her food. We finished the meal with banana care. That was only bananas! The best I ever had! They make all the deserts home. No boxed ingredients. Everything's fresh. Make yourself a favor and try this place. You will thank me and your taste buds will thank you!
We stopped For the complete menu, but we were surprised to find a brunch-only menu on Sunday. It is a beautiful brunch menu - we had the Mediterranean Omelette. The food was delicious and if the eggs are so good, I can wait to try the REAL menu. Clean, friendly and obviously a beloved room. It was full.
We had dinner at the boss and Frog with a large group of people. The restaurant is beautiful and the live music is a beautiful background. The service was attentive, efficient and friendly. We had several appetizers for the table and each of them was delicious. The Favorite group was divided between roasted green tomatoes that were perfectly crisp and tasteful and egg rolls. My duck was fresh, refined and delicious. The consensus on the table regarding their entrees steak, shrimp and grits, pasta and tuna was the same. This restaurant is a world-class treasure hidden from the beaten path. Well worth the ride from the beach and we will definitely be back.
First of all the service was terrible. We arrived and had to hunt down a hostess to find us a table. Our waitress was a nice lady but she was not a good waitress. She was great at keeping our drinks full but had to wait a very long time to order and over an our to get our food. There was only 1 other customer in the restaurant. Now on to our food. None of the food had any seasoning. We ordered fried green tomatoes for appetizer. I had to add salt just to be able to eat them. I ordered the crepe. It came out with a sauce that was so runny my crepe was soggy and it was like eating crepe soup. I could not even finish it. My French onion soup had that processed fake ?American cheese ? Swiss cheese on it and for the prices you would think they?d use real cheese. The soup of the day was chicken florentine which looked like dirty dish water and tasted like it looked. 2 people in my group ordered burgers. One was a peppercorn and other was black and bleu. The black and bleu was supposed to be blackened seasoned and there wasn?t even any salt on the burger. They were ordered to be medium and came out well done. The peppercorn one had that fake cheese on it and barely had any peppercorns and again no salt or seasoning. The last person in my group ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and that was probably only meal that remotely had any seasoning and was edible. For the price I would expect food with seasoning and flavor and service to match. So disappointed!!
