Crown Anchor Pub - Whitecourt

Amazing food, great staff, and a lovely atmosphere/ This still all stands, however; I ordered the shepherd pie from here for supper tonight ? my favorite!!!(Take out)I was very displeased when I opened up my (2) containers and they were only 1/3 filled, and did not look Appetizing in any sense whatsoever and for some reason tonight they were incredibly spicy. Great taste, but I am unhappy with the amount and quality of the food.The first 2 photos are the containers directly after opening them.The third photo is the two containers dumped into one after they had both been mixed and fluffed.

Hade the fish and chips. Fries and especially the fish done to perfection.

Was told this is THE place for good food in Whitecourt...! Arrived around 6pm, walked into a dark glory-hole...! The seating was ripped, dirty table, miserable waitress...as you look around EVERYthing needs a clean with something strong! Was reluctant to order but was persuaded to try the Shephard's pie. Who in their right mind over-loads it with herbs...i managed maybe 4 mouthfulls before I felt ill. It was runny/like slop...I would NOT describe that as any sort of gravy I know of..!! One of my party said she thought it was supposed to be a UK inspired Pub... Well that's a NO! ..every pub I have ever been in (back home) prides itself on good food to keep their business alive..... The food they are dishing up in the Crown Anchor..well it's embarrassing.
