We visited the Ship for dinner for 4 nights when we were staying in Porlock. Food was great and very good value . Would recommend the stuffed chicken, gammon steak and cheese board. Service was excellent . Bottom Ship at Porlock Weir same owners) was also great for post walking drink
We have just enjoyed a great weekend at the Ship Inn Porlock. We wanted a stay in a traditional quaint old English Inn and were not disappointed, and we thought the room rates represent very good value for money. The staff were very attentive, polite and helpful. We had two breakfasts and one evening meal and were very happy with the food offerings. We are frequent visitors to this lovely part of the world but our first time staying at The Ship, we will be back.
We had a dinner here to celebrate a birthday. Obviously with us being a group they sensibly asked for food orders in advance. On the night the table had Happy Birthday banners and the staff were very attentive and soon had our food served up. Everyone seemed happy with their choices and I never heard a complaint. It was well presented and hot and a decent sized portion. We noticed on the way out that they were advertising rooms at £175 for 2 nights B&B which would seem a good deal......perhaps one day!
Friendly pub with good selection of beers and food. My wife and I both had the chicken and tarragon pie from the specials menu. All freshly cooked and really good. Dog friendly.
