Good news, is that the baby back ribs were EXCELLENT as always, Bad news is all the charm and atmosphere of TR 's has been stripped out of this location! Very disappointing new decor that is tragic. Major disappointment in the traditional onion loaf that is now a small ring of onions that was awful!! And they only had one order left in the kitchen and it was 6pm on Sunday. Hmmmm! No hot napkins to clean your hands, buy dry small packet that was ridiculous. We wont be back. Sad... Service was great and now the new mandatory 20% tip in PB County is added, so hope it does not change their attitude! We always tip about 20% when service is good, but it should be earned!! Ok, off my soap box....
While my wife and I were initially smothered with attention, once our food came out, no one came to check on us. We had a difficult time requesting the check. Sometimes, it may be best not to chase food memories. I always loved Tony Roma's, especially for their beef ribs, as most restaurants don't have beef but only pork. My memory of the beef ribs was they were the size of the ribs on the Flintstones. Eating two or possibly three was a challenge. Not anymore. Now, the size of the ribs is like a typical Chinese restaurant. The worst offense was deep frying the ribs to heat them. I know it is an old kitchen trick for slower-selling items. My ribs were nearly incinerated. I would have sent them back had anyone come back to the table. I order my ribs dry as I expect to savor the flavor from the seasoning and the slow cooking. Tony Roma's was a total disappointment. Maybe I should be glad they closed all of their New Jersey locations.
It was a fine place to eat since we were staying at the hotel.
They never have the onion loaf. They don’t answer the phone.
A 20% tip is automatically applied to the bill. I prefer the discretion to make these decisions myself. This location is in a hotel and lacks the ambience of a true Tony Romas. This is more like an airport version of the restaurant.
