Vidl - West Knoxville

Vid'l is plant based dining at its best. You'll find only extremely tasty, high nutrient food here. It's the kind of plant based food you'd get in New York or California, and we're lucky for it to be in Knoxville!We've been a handful of times and I tend to get the polenta with mushrooms and greens. It's filling and tasty. The space is huge, and has a lot of plant-based books and cookbooks to peruse while you're eating. I've seen rumors that it closed permanently, but the happy cow app says it's closed temporarily. Haven't had a chance to swing by to check it out in person yet. Hope it's still there or will be back soon.

I had been worried that my non-vegetarian friends would not be thrilled with this place or that it might feel pretentious, but it was delightful. It is very low key- you order at counter, find your own seat, bus your own dishes. Everything we had off the menu was great and enough for a meal when you combine a couple items. The avocado toast plus soup or a burger with sides, etc. The chickpea pot pie was filling and delicious and even the cookies were good. We were able to put several tables together for our large group and it wasn't a problem at all. Quick service and the parking is free just down the road under the highway bridge.

My daughter and her husband are vegans. Our Christmas meal was from here. Windy added a Fields Roast.,can it be better than perfect and excellent. I look forward to experiencing this amazing food again.

Menu was diverse and healthy. The ambience was wonderful. The meal was different from the normal choices, and I enjoyed it. There was not a rush/urge to finish, which is always nice.First restaurant that I have encountered with mandatory 20% charge on the cost for a one person order. I was looking for the choose your tip screen, but it was not an option when the screen was turned back to me just sign.I ordered a separate glass of wine from the group that ordered a bottle, and my glass was so tiny. It was funny to see the just opened bottle after she poured my glass. It sent the message of order a bottle here. Plan accordingly.
