Cafe Su - West Des Moines

Cafe Su has some of the best Asian food I've ever eaten! I highly recommend the Chef Zon Special, which is mildly spicy. Cafe Su's new location is a shared space with the coffee shop Inspired Grounds and it is still in transition. Su and staff work tirelessly to create beautiful, delicious food and an ambiance fitting to the quality of their cuisine. Kitschy cafe lights are strung overhead and greenery adorns the walls and tables. Food is made from fresh ingredients, and despite the limited kitchen area, plates are presented beautifully. Su also graciously and frequently offers free mugs of jasmine tea to all who sit in her dining area, even when some of my group has only ordered coffee from Inspired Grounds. My writing group visits Inspired Grounds and Cafe Su twice monthly for their kind, accommodating staff and their excellent food beverages. This is the destination for a variety of communities needing space, kindness, and food, and it always delivers : Thank you for your excellent service, Su!

Simply the best Thai/Chinese fusion cusiene in DSM.. Chef Zon the owner Su offer a dining experience that 's different and amazing, it has an international vibe with a small town friendliness which is definitely rare and unique in any genere of dining these days. The Walls are lined with high quality original artist works from a gallery that are available to buy . And lastly but most importantly the Bar Wait staff is attentive, energetic , informed professional. Not to mention easy on the eyes! They offer Saturday evening Salsa Karaoke nites several evenings a month ,and are even available for private parties. I ate here as a young child 20 years ago, It still and will always will hold a special place in my heart. It was great food and service was excellent. The atmosphere is a bit dated but cleaned well. We were very impressed with the quality of the meal. I had Pad Thai Eugene. It was great.

Quickly becoming my favorite Asian restaurant in Des Moines. Good beer selection. Excellent soup, great food. Phunky location feels like a buddy's basement where the cool kids hang out.
