The portion was huge, and if you love lime like I do, these will be a huge hit! For entrees, my wife had the Carbonara and I had the Duck Fat Burger. The Carbonara was not as rich or heavy as your typical carbonara (not in a bad way), and was packed full of flavor. The duck fat burger, as expected when one cooks brisket in duck fat and coats it with American cheese and thousand island dressing, was incredibly rich and delicious. The side of fries wasn't half bad either, but I think I'd opt for a side salad next time to help cut the richness of the burger. All around great food.
This chef is amazing! Cozy, date night, great wines. The Faroe grain Island salmon was incredible!
I wanted to try something new today, and this place came over my FB news feed. I try all new places with adventurous menus, and they have not disappointed! The sticky wings with the lime were the perfect balance between slightly spicy and sweet. The hanger steak on the sandwich was cooked for perfection, the slightly salted frits were like the cherry above. The sandwich was so filled. I also wanted to try breakfast as it was on the same menu and was still served in the afternoon. I tried the mushrooms omelet made French style while the flavors were amazing, the French style was not for me. If you do not know, a French style Omelette is fluffy and slightly runny in the middle. Just wasn't my cup of tea. Overall, this place gets its 5 stars, the waiting staff was friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I'm definitely back.
Well, a week ago, on my way home after seeing some friends and deciding how close to dinner time I was a bit hungry. So I decided to stop at a place that always fascated me while passing, but never stopped. Wild Roots on 6807 W Mug St, West Allis, WI 53219. Very close to Becher Meats and the West Allis Cheese Sausage Shop. I came there when they just started their food service and sat at the bar. The staff was very attentive and, in my experience, to continue to speak charmingly. Several things caught my eye when looking at the dinner menu, but as not extremely hungry, I decided on a few small plates. I chose the deviled Eggs with Chicharrones and the Vietnamese chicken wings. Both articles were delicious and well presented, and very tasty. I later saw menus in the night when I came home and definitely back for Brunch. Maybe. I see you there!
We loved this restaurant from the moment we entered. We drove to eat here because of the positive bozz we had heard from neighborhood friends and Facebook groups... and we understand everything now! The restaurant is small and very sweet. I think they could take 15 parties. Although we had no reservations, they could put us right away, but the place is filled quickly after the start. The little plates were delicious. We had the Bulgogi meat balls, deviled eggs and cheese board. The meatballs are a certain one cannot miss. The devil eggs were very good, but probably not something we would order again. The cheese board was delicious with some high quality cheese (Hooks 5 yr cheddar! . However, the accompanying toast could be improved with some different crackers. Our ducks were definitely at the point. The gnocchi was tasteful. The Steak frites were perfectly cooked and served with a delightful creamy spinach. Dessert was pretty good, but we had to hurry. The house cocktails were tried, were bright and refreshing. Service was attentive and provided some great insights.
