Kinniwabi Pines Restaurant - Wawa

My husband and I came across this little gem while celebrating our 10th anniversary with a Lake Superior Full Circle drive in July, 2017.After walking in, we were taken aback with the gorgeous window and patio views along with the great interior decor. We had breakfast by one of the little windows that viewed the water and pines. The smell of fresh pine, fresh linen on table adorned with china cup of coffee on saucer (delivered elegantly on tray by waitress) and Sarah Brightman music playing softly in the background put me entirely in my element. I didn't want to leave. Husband had to catch up on work emails after breakfast and I lazily enjoyed my coffee and took it all in. What a slice of heaven this is!We ended up staying another night in town, next door so we could further explore the area and come back for dinner. The staff is wonderful! Enjoyed the maps and pics from Trinidad. Signed autograph and picture of Ted Nugent was pleasant surprise, too. If we ever get back to Wawa, we know where we are headed. Don't pass this one up!A big thank you to the owners and staff for a memory I will always treasure.

Went there with friends and 2 of us ordered the pickerel which was OK, I have had much better. It came with soup, which was too spicy for me. It also came with dill potatoes and cole slaw. The other had perogies and cabbage rolls and said they were good.

Excelent food. The chiken Kiev was better than chicken Kiev I had in Kiev Ukraina. The fish was very good. The best was the assistance we had from the owner who worked very hard on the phone to find us a hotel far in the north.

Excellent food. Little gem of a restaurant. I was expecting regular side of the road restaurant type food (burgers, fries etc). But no this place had main course dinners, appetizers, fresh homemade bread. It didn't dawn on me until after we left that underneath the name of the restaurant it says FINE dining........and that it is. You will not be disappointed.

This is the highest rated restaurant in the area which is why we went. The food was very good, which is the only reason I gave two stars. Unfortunately we were at the restaurant for over two hours waiting for our food. Our order was taken promptly, drinks and soup brought in good timing. Then we waited, and waited and waited. It was an hour between getting our appetizer and our dinner. By that time no one was very hungry. Wish we would have tried something else.
