I ordered the broccoli steak bowl. Steak was so over cooked it was like shoe leather. Egg rolls were dripping grease. I’ll pass.
I will never eat here again. It is very disappointing but the service food at this restaurant has declined significantly. Several months ago I phoned in my order 30 minutes later my husband went to pick up the order had not been prepared. He was told that the online to-go orders were being prepared first. Tonight I ordered online my husband arrived 30 minutes later and again, the order had not even been started. They did not have the sauce for the menu item ordered. And the food was very sub par too spicy to tolerate. We have very much enjoyed Pei Wei in the past wanted to give the restaurant time to improve after being closed and another chance to improve service. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
Over the last few months the service has slowed down and the restaurant has been left dirty many times. Portion sizes on take outs are pitifully small now. They seemed to have run off the good employees and the attitude of the remaining is how much can I do to get you to get your order to you and leave. The staff and manager do not answer complaints. Within the last year they have run out of key ingredients and have been shut down completely for health care violations. Anyone looking for Chinese Food in Waco may want to try P.F. Changs or one of our better Thai or other Asian inspired local restaurants.
The food used to be delicious, now it just all tastes the same, greasy and not tasty, needs new management or some fix.
Our latest Pei Wei experience was a disappointment. Four of us visited the restaurant for an early dinner, Wednesday, October 10th, including my husband and two first time diners. A tip off about what was to come was our long wait time to place our orders and then once we sat down noticing the restaurant's filthy windows. While it has always bothered me that most of our Pei Wei order arrives at the same time, the cup of hot sour soup ordered by my husband and me was served cold. We sent them back for a hot cup of soup yet they returned to us barely tepid. We decided not to send them back again. One of our guests was kept waiting for his orange chicken dish to the point the rest of us had finished eating our order when it finally arrived! He asked for a carry out container so we could depart. Perhaps our experience would have been better if this Pei Wei location had more staff working during our shift. They seemed unusually unprepared to accommodate their evening diners. This visit was not a good experience for us or our first time guests. Although the two of us have eaten here many times even after one earlier bad experience and, more recently, following this location being shut down for several days by the county health department I'm not sure when we'll return.
