Vinton Family

Well I was on my motorcycle when a BIG storm rolled in. They let me sit in there and watch without ordering anything so I didn't get rained on while on the bike. Everybody in there was extremely nice and greeted me with smiles. I have eaten here before and won't lie the steak and eggs were amazing. I'm making this review to also say thank you very much.

I will give them a 5/5 (even though they forgot my dessert, which was supposed to be included with my meal). The staff were all working really hard and were very busy but you did not have to wait long. Food selection was excellent with tons of specials. We were happy with what we had for the portion size and price (although I didn't love the seasoning sauce on the vegetable stir fry and the veg were a bit over-done). Hot turkey sandwich was huge and wonderful (so says my dining companion) The place was busy, and everyone was enjoying their meals. So thank you!

The food here is pretty standard comfort fare, but the atmosphere is fantastic. Vinton isn't a large town, so it can get quite busy, but the quality of the food is still commendable.

This is not your typical small-town diner. What I appreciate most is their consistency; over the years I've been dining here, they've stayed true to what I expect. The food is delicious, the place is clean, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. Everything is served promptly, and I've never encountered an issue with my orders or service, even after multiple visits. I also admire the fact that they employ a good number of kitchen and serving staff, which helps support the community. Overall, I really enjoy my time here.

The meal included a generous serving of ribs, a choice of potatoes, boiled carrots, and either soup or salad. I opted for the potatoes with gravy and a salad. The salad was decent, although it could have used more vegetables. The croutons were quite tasty. Unfortunately, the carrots were overcooked to the point of being inedible, and no amount of salt and pepper could save them. The potatoes were quite greasy, but the flavor was good. As for the ribs, they were also overcooked, although they were generously slathered in a nice barbecue sauce. The meal was supposed to come with a roll, but I didn't receive one. Additionally, there was supposed to be a dessert included, but I was offered one for purchase instead—this was frustrating, especially since I knew it was part of the deal, particularly because the man behind me ordered the same meal and received his dessert. Overall, the food was acceptable but nothing special. The environment gave off a vibe more suited for retirees, as everything seemed bland and overcooked, likely to make it easier to digest. The waitress was kind and the service was decent. It's not a bad spot for a quick meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
