The restaurant has been relaunched as the COPPER ANCHOR. We've never been here before, so we can't compare it to the previous menu. We were staying at the hotel next door, the weather was raining and it was late, so we lucked out with the Copper. With that said, we recently went keto and did not find much on the menu that excited us. So why 4-stars, because the fish and chips (replaced with a cesar salad) was very tasty. The battered coating on the cod tasted like the same batter as the sweet sour chicken, but light and airy like tempura. The lemon and anchovy in the cesar salad dressing complimented the fried cod well with the slightly sweet batter. We found ourselves a new mashup. The cole slaw tasted scratch made and was well seasoned. We could dine on just the cole slaw alone. Not exactly the traditional flavor, but a new good taste for us. Next we'll try the steak tips at the Black Dog.
AWFUL! Ate there last night. Beautiful decor but ya ' can 't eat that. Any resemblance in flavor to Asian cuisine is in name only...The craft drinks looked good in the pictures on the menu and, perhaps if you have enough of them, the food won 't matter...Even the General Tso 's chicken is called General Gaos ...or something like that with, I think a disclaimer that they weren 't sure. The LoMein is a huge pile of spaghetti in a less than usual sauce that might have sugar or hoisin blended in. The EggRolls?...hard to imagine but were over-fried and hard and while they claimed a protein in them, we couldn 't find it. The dumpling stuffing while stuffed with protein didn 't have the usual flavor. The wonton soup was absolute dishwater. Admittedly there were a few whole enoki mushrooms in it. NOTE: You have to indicate that you would like the appetizers first! I 'm warning you because everything we ordered came out at once! (Good thing we didn 't order dessert at the same time! The good news, I guess, is that the entrees are huge...but we left half of it over anyway...couldn 't bring ourselves to keep eating. I 'd suspect that the chef is not Asian, nor was he ever trained in that. Perhaps the burgers or sushi are better...After all, good sushi, you live, bad sushi, you die. The burgers at another table looked...well, like burgers.
