Only two tables occupied when we got there. Ordered the brunch Avocado Toast with poached eggs. Not rocket science. When it arrived, there was NO avocado anywhere on the toast. Just arugula. Very gracious waitress brought out half a cut avocado on a plate and asked if I wanted it remade . Didn 't have time. I cook, so I know full well how it 's made. Asked for a lemon, then had to go to the bar to get some more lemon slices and a box to go. Will not be going back. Like ordering chicken and waffles and then no chicken on your serving.

Classic American pub. Didn’t like the garlic truffle fries (bit wet and soggy) and the patty in the classic burger was so thick. Waffle fries were yum. Service was a bit slow and took awhile to get the drinks menu but was ok overall Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Recommended dishes: Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Waffle Fries

We stopped by after a long hike with a dog. When I asked about eating arrangements with a dog, I was told by a curt waitress that we cant sit inside, which is expected, but there were no outside seating arrangements to fit our group size. Instead of helping us rearrange tables or asking us to wait until an appropriate sized table was free (there was one person using a table for 5 right next to us), the rude waitress just says “we cant accomodate you”. Not sure if it was because our group was made up of POC, but we did not feel welcomed there. Would recommend people visiting to try other places down main street instead.

Love this place. The simple menu somehow has more food for vegetarian and GF dietary requirements than establishments 4 times its size and menu space. Everything we had was delicious. We stood in a brunch line 20 minutes elsewhere in Cold Spring before talking a short stroll further up Main to J. Murphy’s. Glad we did. The atmosphere is cozy, food was fast and delicious, and everyone was just so damn friendly. Maybe by the time you read this they will have updated hours on Google but they open at 11 on Sundays, NOT noon. When in doubt, just call and see if they’re open. The bar looked super cozy—if we’re ever in Cold Spring again we’ll come back for a cocktail.
