Convívio - MATEUS

Large traditional Portuguese restaurant with friendly and helpful service. Children, including babies, are welcome. Perfect fish soup. Go to the Rodizio de Peixe if you cannot decide the main course. Try the chocolate mousse.

We were passing by Vila Real and went to this restaurant to get something to eat for dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised not only by the food (everything was superb beginning with the appetizers, the seafood soup, and the main course the roasted lamb but especially for the top service. A very pleasant man walked us through every dish and served us a great wine and a final drink. Don’t get fooled by the entrance, inside is a real treasure of cuisine :

This is a fabulous spot for homemade Portuguese cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed the roasted goat and the bacalhau! Our host was friendly and the service was excellent. Excellent wine too!
