Any meal is typical italian and in particular is from this zone. It is impossible to remark a single meal because all of them are really fantastic, but anyway, only for the gourmet i could remind: The PreAPPETIZER, Burro di Alpeggio con Alici The APPETIZERS ... all .... The Main Course Ravioli Porri e Patate The Second Course Costata di Carne or Costine di Agnello The DESSERTS .... all .... etc ... Of course you can choose any meal, but better to follow the guidance of the owner. Don 't eat the bread if you wanna resist tasting everything, but it 's up to you because the bread itself is very good. For the wine, a good red from Piedmont ... so Get There and enjoy !
I was exploring the place to try to find a menu. Finally asked the waitress and she said I am the menu and she started telling what we could eat in strange English. It 's a pleasant place so we decided to take a chance and that was a good idea. First she brought a barrel (like five pounds worth) of butter with the bread and gressini. I managed to get lamb chops that were delicious with French fries from real potatoes, hand carved and crispy. Georges had duck sliced thinly with a wonderful sauce. Our lunch was surprising in this modest looking place, everything fresh and fabulous homemade ravioli to boot.
We stumbled across Ristorante Martinet by complete accident, on a long drive out of San Remo, through France and northwards. The town was small and we thought ourselves lucky to find a place open. On entering the restaurant, we asked for a menu, but with our limited Italian, and the staff speaking almost no English, we were directed to the owner, who explained there was no menu, and that he cooked only typical local food. Once we had worked out through a few questions that they could feed my vegan partner, we were shown to the only table for 2 left in the place; this was the only negative part of the visit, as we were placed very close to, and squarely between, two elderly couples who seemed to take an uncomfortable fascination in our being their the restaruant seemed populated entirely by locals. That aside, the service was very good as we were talked through the options available and ate two very good courses at a very reasonable cost. The manager and staff were very friendly and efficient and I'd certainly eat here again . . . though I'm not sure I'd ever find it again!
