Przekaż informację zwrotnąAs this place was on my list and since I was in Yaletown I decided to try this place out. I was anticipating a traditional Japanese restaurant. The dining room is quite large with a sushi bar, patio seating, western style seating and a few tatami rooms. I asked to be seated at the sushi bar, and judging by the accent of the chefs, I realised it was another Chinese/Japanese joint. I ordered deluxe sashimi, chawan mushi and the super deluxe sushi combination. For the price I paid, I was expecting the chefs choice. What I received was hohum. The pieces of fish were not cut the tradional way. Sashimi should be one bite, not 2 or 3. The chawan mushi (savory custard) wasn't too bad. The super deluxe sushi was nothing spectacular. Considering the price, I was expecting more. It came with a dynamite roll which wasnt too bad. Their sake selection is quite good and the servers were very attentive. Not sure if Id go back but ive had worse.
As a regular traveller and user of Trip Advisor abroad, I checked the rating here out of sheer curiosity and was surprised to see a 4 star rating. The food and service weren't good. As a Vancouver native I've been eating sushi all my life, and all over Vancouver, and the sad reality with this place is you're paying premium prices for sub-standard sushi. The special role that we bought was thrown together. There are a thousand sushi places in Vancouver, many at a much lower price point and with considerably better food. Ie. better value. You're honestly better off going to Urban Fare. Which is in fact exactly what we did. Maybe there's been a management change or something because I have a tough time understanding how this place has four stars. That, coupled with the poor service actually drove me to write this review. There are so many other options! Do not recommend.
Consistent quality. Excellent food and respectful staff. The prices are also reasonable.Have been coming to this place for about three years. Never disappointed, can always count on it.
Site of our annual family visit this year. Food was good, fresh and arrived quickly. This place is one of our comfort food destinations when we fly into town.
This place used to be a regular haunt of mine - went back last night for the first time in years to see its still held up!A bunch of the vancouver canucks used to go here - despite its lowkey look and interior - just speaks to the quality!Prices are mid range for sushi in Vancouver - but quality and taste are amongst the bestTry the-: sockeye salmon sashimi- beef shortribs- spicy tuna roll- Yaletown roll (very unique-)! albacore roll (also unique!)Glad I was able to go there while visiting Vancouver!
