There were not so many things that were contained in the packs (I did not see their Koleslaw as an option) but the basics were there. Seeing the marinated chicken that was held by the vertical spear gives Bagdad Cafe a real sense of authenticity (and street herbs). The staff is so skillful to open the Pita in two leaves; then coats the chicken and toppings before it slathering in sauce and rolls it all closed. The end product was almost as good as we remembered. But not quite. I think their menu options may have shrunk, but as long as these packages are on the menu, we will probably come back. This is a popular place of ours. Just like aside when we entered the various neighborhoods in Vancouver, we saw more and more Middle Eastern Wraps places. The different places will differ in particular in the types of homemade sauces at any location. After we were exposed to Shawarmas and Doners in Europe, we became big fans of this deliciously seasoned ethnic delicacies.
The place is very small, but the Shawarma is incredible and the staff is so beautiful. Feel at home and look forward to answering questions if you have never been there. I go as often as I can! Good quality food,... large portions....all amazing for a good price
Great price- fast informal- great healthy food I had the falafel packing and my husband had chicken packing filling!!! Tv plays sport
Our chicken locks were perfect: the chicken was shaved by the spit (not cut) so it was really thin and tasteful. When we came by about 10 a.m., they were not open, but the spit was full of marinated chicken pieces that started the cooking process. When we returned after 3:00 and placed our order, the chicken was almost exhausted. This talks volumes about how popular this small café is with the locals. The line quickly grows behind us and the line moved quickly. The flat bread they use is different from any one I have seen; the thin but considerable flat wraps were peeled apart and filled and then packed. This made for a very fluffy and delicious (but not too heavy) the pack. The marinade flavor of the chicken was excellent and the Veggie selections contained everything on the display... even French Fries (yes, Fritten) that we did not have since Florence, Italy. Ask for a bullet of the Coleslaw in addition to the other fillers, it is excellent. This is just a small business before the business with an excellent Iraqi take on donors, but the menu is quite varied and everything just looked great. We have our donors to go and enjoyed them back in our hotel room.
The lady was nice, so was the elderly man. In fact, all staff were friendly. However, I found them a bit chatty, as in they were talking to each other which held up service time and i needed to be at a conference. The food...just okay.
