Tasty Pot - Vancouver

Servers not friendly. Didn’t check back on water refilling or to see if we needed anything. Meat in the chowmein almost non existence and few veg. It’s about 90% noodles. Soup dumplings were more like a potsticker. Mediocre. Fried rice was bland and very wet. Will NOT go back.

They have combined two restaurants (Taste of Asia Tasty Pot) and two menus. If you order off the Taste of Asia menu, expect to be disappointed. The food was pretty bland. However, the food off the Tasty Pot menu (which is more expensive) seems to be much better quality and more... tasty . So definitely go for Tasty Pot and not Taste of Asia.

First off I’d like to say service was trash, I’m a good fanaitc I love tasting new food but this fried rice was just bad, they gave me the bottom over cooked rice that’s just big clumps of hard and tasteful rice but it just ruined it Cuzz I had to pick the hard and the soft wontons where dry, good flavor but dry dry not much sauce. And yet no utensils !

Food was really good.. BUT I think management needs to do better training for their servers. I dined with my mom so it was two of us, server gave one piece of napkin. Called him down just to give us more. Had to call down for an extra small bowls. Then had to call again for spoons and had to explain to get a small one instead of a big serving spoon. We were also the first and only ones there for a while, it wasn’t busy. So that server just lacked attentiveness. I feel like what I described is sort of self explanatory. But the management was kind! We got the taiwanese pot and shrimp fried rice! Really good stuff.

Tasty Pot is always a good choice. We can each get something very different, and the food is all good. If you don't try the green onion pancake, you're missing out. My partner loves the XLB's, and our kid enjoys the vegetable hot pot. The staff even took the time to show her how to adjust the fire, even though it was busy. We love Tasty Pot!
