Burger Haus - Valparaiso

I've eaten a lot of amazing food in my 48 years and today's meal at Burgerhaus was off the hook! It's not often we find a restaurant that can please both our palates, he being a devout carnivore and me being a person who will choose non-meat foods 9 out of 10 times. I ordered the Mediterranean Portabella sandwich on a gluten-free free bun with a side salad. Both items FAR exceeded my expectations! The mushroom was thick, juicy, double stacked and larger than the bun. It was seasoned quite well and was drenched, just enough, in a tasty sauce, sauteed onions, and brie cheese if I remember correctly. It was served piping hot, so much so that I was disappointed that it was too hot to scarf down instantly. And my side salad... unlike any side salad I've eaten in my entire life! Fresh, crispy deep green lettuce, spinach and arugula, small diced tomatoes, and some sliced cucumber. The yummy balsamic vinegarette rounded it out perfectly. This is definitely one of the most memorable meals I've ever eaten, kudos to the chef! My husband knows burgers better than any meat-atarian on the planet and I'm guessing by the sounds he made after his first bite, he was beyond pleased. Thank you for amazing food! Great food. Everything was very fresh. Cucumbers on our salads actually tasted like cucumbers even though they were out of season. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of everything.

Finally! A mellow place for our middle-aged ears! This is the first place I can remember where hubby and I could hear each other and dinner was so pleasent and relaxing. Our food was great, we'll be back!

This is my new favorite place! Friendly staff and the most flavorful and best burger I ever had!!! Can't wait to go back!

I'm hooked on the Galapagos Tacos. Great Salads and a good beer selection. The place has a great vibe. Lively and welcoming. Definitely a new favorite for me.
