Slater's 50/50 - Valencia

First time trying Slater's 50/50. I liked the decor and obeisance of the restaurant. Since they are a burger bar restaurant I had high expectations for their cuisine. I always order my meat medium-rare and it came medium-well. I substitute my fries foronion rings. The batter had a rough and hard texture to the outside. I think they used coarse cornmeal. Not sure but difficultto eat. My wifes hamburger was cooked well-done and should have been medium. Her burger was the 50/50 meat. Which was dense andnot very moist. Maybe we will return to try something else .

I used to love this place but it?s not what it used to be now that it?s been expanding more and more. The service was nice, quick and efficient. I ordered the best bacon cheeseburger with 50/50 patty medium but it came more like medium rare/rare. Idecided to eat it anyways but with 1/5 left to go, my body was telling me i shouldn?t continue to eat it with how raw it was.The burger itself was oily but not in a juicy way, the burger still tasted dry. $30 after tax and tip for a chain burger spot (Ialso got a coke) seems a bit too pricey for me as well.

I don't think I'll go back. It was mediocre food. The deep fried items where scorched and oily, the only standout items were the Brussels and the burger. The waiter was too attentive to the point of being annoying. Wish I had a better experience. $108 for 3adults and 1 child

I?ve been to slaters in SD but my bf hasn?t been so we made a stop before heading home. He got the lone star burger and I got the original, we sat outside the weather was nice so it made it bare-able. He liked it for trying it the first time. I knew itwouldn?t disappoint. My waitress I wish we got her name she was great so attentive and friendly. He liked it and for it being myfirst time at this location it was great. Thank you Slaters. Oh they also had a camera in the front when entering we didn?t useit but it?s cute for memory on a date night.

I truly enjoy this place. The service is great and the food is great. Favorite appetizer is the Southern pimento loaded tots. We have had so many things on the menu and really you can't go wrong. I love the 50/50 hotdogs and the high brow buger. Thebest waitress i have ever encountered works here, Heather, and we ask for her section whenever possible.
