We had a lovely time here and a good meal. We got the lemon seabass, which we loved, and a seafood stew, which was okay. The ambience was great. We are English speakers, and we were served by an English-speaking waitress until it came time...to pay. At that point, she was nowhere to be found, and someone who only spoke Spanish, or we suspect who pretended to only speak Spanish, came to tell us our gratuity was not enough. Everything we read in advance, and our prior days of experience in Argentina, indicated was a respectable tip, but we were pressured into The next night, at a different restaurant, we followed suit and gave a tip, and the waiter was exceptionally grateful. His reaction confirmed for us that we were taken advantage of at Paso Garibaldi.

My partner and I spent New Years Eve here and enjoyed an delicious seven course meal of local seafood. The owner was easy to communicate our reservations through and the staff was very hospitable with our lack of Spanish. The courses were nothing short of...incredible, and VERY filling. We practically needed to be rolled across the street back to our hotel at the end of the night. Highly recommend checking this restaurant out during your stay in Ushuaia.
