Küar 1900 - Ushuaia

Inside cozy and casual. Like the booth. Beer a couple locals on tap Empanadas fire. Spinach/cheese and the lamb ones were both great Went here multiple times on a short trip recommend!

Ambience and waitstaff are the highlights here. The food is pleasant but not outstanding. I am possibly getting a little tired of empanadas. Beer was good and the margarita was the best I had in Ushuaia despite the fact that they only had one proper glass so I had to keep returning it to get a second. They had also a violinist who came in very skilled. Had this quartz sphere that he balanced on his head and arms as part of his gig. I was torn between being really impressed and finding it a bit over the top. But a great cozy place to sit out the rain and wind and enjoy good company.

The restaurant is neat place on the second floor of a main street. Lovely atmosphere. I ordered the Salmon which was excellent. My wife ordered the lamb which looked like scrapings from the bottom of the pan bunched together. So if you want Salmon, great place. If you want lamb, not so good.

Is it just me or anyone else feels kinnda humiliated when the waiter ignores you over and over ? Lousy service. Im aware things are slower here I actually like it but this place is a waste of time. Do not go there

We had been in Ushuaia 2 days 2 nights, we were still looking for some good southern king crab. My travel partner wanted an Argentine loin steak ordered their most expensive whole king crab plate for me. He wanted whole crab photos to take back ! His steak was excellent very reasonably priced. However, my crab plate was lovely to look at, but the meat in the crab legs shells was skinny, runny not very good taste wise . It was very over priced and more like poor queen crab in Alaska . The onion rings were excellent as were the two sauces it was served with. After decades of eating our big Alaska king crab, this was an extreme disappointment.
