I used to order takeout all the time and at some point over the past decade of coming I lost my patience to make it all the way home and starting dining in. I was rewarded- the white sauce is in a syrup dispenser on the table and this is genius on their part. The hot sauce is also available on the table. Please bring back the mantoo! I haven’t been able to order it in awhile or I keep missing it. I live further now so I can’t make it as often but every visit here has never missed.
Pretty tasty food, okay service. We got the triple kabob combo (Lamb, chicken, beef) which came with the three kabobs, a whole load of rice, some onions, and tomatos. The food was good, but wasn't as flavorful as some other kabob places I have been too around queens. They have a very limited selection of sauces (no actual hot sauce), though their white sauce is amazing and does a lot to enhance pretty much everything. The service is decent, but it's clear that this place is not meant to be a dine-in restaurant as it appears to be more of a place where you just sit down with your food and eat it (in which case I'm not sure why they have waiters). They only have bottled water. I would also say the food is slightly over priced for the amount of meat you get.Overall, if I were in the area I would eat here again, but if looking for a kabob place there are a few places not too far that I would drive too instead.
This place serves up something unreal. The only minor complaint was that they didn't have a few of the menu items. I really wanted to try some Afghan beverages but they sadly did not have it. Anyways, on to what really matters..Starting off with sambosas, these fried dumplings filled with meat and veggies were a great start to the meal. Each bite was filled with great taste. The combination plate with chicken and lamb was phenomenal. The duet of the grill and spice on these meats were glorious. The brown rice was also delicious flavorful, warm, and soft. The green tea that they served was quite delightful. The tea waa brewed with a blend of spices (I'm pretty sure it was ginger).Absolutely will come back again!
This is the second time we've ordered from Kabul Kabob House in Westbury. The food is outstanding, the portions are large, and the the prices are very reasonable. We ordered two combos with chicken, lamb chops and kofta. Each combo comes with rice and salad and the portions are enough for two adults. The service is also great. We had a 15% coupon. My son didn't have it with him when he went to pick up the order and the gentleman gave him the 15% off anyway. We would definitely use Kabul Kabob anytime we would like to enjoy delicious Afghan food.
My family and I came to this restaurant (Main St., Flushing) for Ramadan iftar as we were around the area. For the most part the food quality and service was neither great or terrible. We ordered a combo appetizer plate, chicken tikka combo, combo #1 plate for 2 people (jujeh chicken and chapli kabobs), shirazi salad and extra sambosa (note salad is NOT part of the combo plates, have to be purchased separately). The meats were all pretty bland, along with the humus and kashk badenjan, rice and sambosas were seasoned well. The service was good in the beginning with prompt seating, ordering and food arriving, but awful towards the end with getting the check and to go boxes had to ask 3 different servers 2 times each. We’re long time fans of Bakhtar’s afghan food and still nothing close close to their food quality and service. We’ll try this restaurant’s Long Island location at a later time.
