We had lunchtime at the Blacksmiths, very pleasant service but I got the wrong meal, as I would have to wait I accepted the meat dinner even though I ordered fish, the waitress was very present so we let it go, it wasn't as nice as I would have liked, the sweet was delicious and well presented. It could have been better, we are trying to support local businesses as times are hard. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I enjoyed a delightful lunch here today complimented by a good glass of nicely chilled wine. I chose the steak and ale pie which was delicious as were the chips although the veg was slightly over done for my taste. The service was friendly and fairly prompt considering how busy they were, including our bus trip. I also indulged in a Bakewell tart with ice cream which didn't deliver the standard of the pie, sorry. I followed my meal with a pot of very good tea served in a pot which was sufficient for 2 cups. The bar was tastefully decorated for Christmas and the atmosphere was very festive. The toilets were very clean as were the premises. A very pleasant visit, thank you. Went to Flora for on a trip with friendsand decided to have lunch at this beautiful pub,Everything was absolutely spot on,food delicious,staff very friendly and helpful,I think there was only 1 person in the kitchenso really deserves a medal because they were quite busy.Well done all of you.Ladies group visited 14th.November.
